Contact may be defined by selecting individual surfaces or by selecting whole parts. If you select two parts Pro/MECHANICA will find every possible contact region between those two parts even if they are not likely to be in contact with the given applied loads. It is usually best to define contact by selecting individual surface pairs. This will reduce the number of contact regions Pro/MECHANICA will need to process during the solution.
